Da roof - Da roof - Da roof is on the house!

Yep, da roof is on the house! It's still not water tight since the patio doors and window are not installed yet. There's still showers every afternoon and puddles inside.
The person in the green shirt is a woman - yea woman power! Ya see, she said to the guys, "Hey, you hang over the edge with a rope around your waist and I'll sit here at the top and toss you shingles to nail in - ha!"

Windows and Wrapping - - Oh My!

Wow - what a difference in looks with windows and vapor barrier wrap. I didn't know windows came before the roof. Hopefully the roof is on soon because it seems to storm every afternoon and there are puddles inside. But, the guys keep cleaning up. There's lots going on inside too. More on that later.

Details - details

It's a design thing. Notice the added triangle on the roof. The architect included it to add interest. Maybe there's a second floor? Mmmmm - -

More Progress - - -

The plywood layer is beginning . . .
One last space to cover - - please don't fall!

Different perspective - - the big open space is the garage in the back. The part that juts out is the guest room in the front of the house. Notice that the tar paper layer is going on, so exciting!

Trusses going up - -

Wow, went by yesterday (July 6th) and the trusses were delivered and on the ground. Went back this afternoon (July 7th) and they were up! Now my house doesn't look so little next to my neighbors with 2 story houses. Sure lots of attic space - and - NO - not for storage! All of the outside walls and the attic area will be insulated with spray foam insulation. ONE OF THE GREEN THINGS. It is supposed to keep the attic area from getting too hot in the summer thus making it more efficient to cool the house. It will also keep the warm air inside in the winter. This all should make my energy use and the monthly cost much less. You know, I have to make that teacher's pension stretch!. This is the master bath that will have a tall window. Still lovin' all those angles - -
